The Picnic

Under a tree sight-specific clowning show for ages 5 and up.

Perla the Clown sets up a picnic under a tree (can be adapted for indoors) The most important thing she brings is her life-long dream — to marry!
She has all that is required for fulfilling her fantasy — a folding table, chair, a folding life... In no time, her sweetheart is going to arrive. She tidies, organizes, climbs, gets stuck... despite her strong desire to achieve perfection, not everything goes according to plan. In her captivating buffoonish role, she interacts with everything around her. The tree, the audience, even a napkin. In a hopelessly optimistic way, she is able to construct a multitude of characters from inanimate objects and props. As we go along, fiction becomes truth!!!

The play was first developed for the 2018 Jerusalem International Puppet Festival
and was premiered at the 360 Degree Theater in the Public Space Festival, Jerusalem 2020
