Repairs

An oriental musical dramatic show, A stage piece for an actress and four musicians.

Mazal, my grandmother was a tailor, This is how she supported five children alone, at a time when a widowed woman had no chance.
"I make repairs" she would say proudly "hems, buttons, shortenings, fusing holes" "What we have is what we have, and what we have is the best we have".
Between the stitches comes to life the girl I used to be, my dreams , the insults I've endured and the clown I have become.
The Ch'alry players from Baghdad are invited to the stage, playing the kanun and the drum, the oud and the flutes and together we will sew a magical and touching stage story accompanied by a rich musical soundtrack of Arabic classics alongside Western music.
